Xeon gas is a gas substance in Breath of Fire which appears to be formed out of a fictional element called Xeon. Although highly toxic to members of the Wing Clan, it appears to have no effect on members of the other clans.

Role in Breath of Fire[]

When the King of Wyndia refuses to ally his kingdom with Zog, he is poisoned through a booby-trapped letter. His daughter Nina, spearheads a reconnaissance mission to retrieve the remedy from the Wizard of Karma. Upon reaching his tower, they learn he has been performing experiments on the inhabitants of Romero. Nina and her soldiers free the tower's captives, however their efforts are discovered by the wizard who procedes to fill the surrounding area with xeon gas. The fumes rapidly weaken his opponents, and a single soldier manages to escape and manages to live just long enough to relay the plight of the others to the castle guard. Around this time, Ryu arrives in the area and a soldier asks him to assist in the rescue effort, knowing that, as an outsider, he will be unaffected by the xeon gas. Ryu agrees. When the team arrives at the tower, the soldier accompanies Ryu through the upper floors, but is eventually forced to halt when they encounter the gas. Ryu procedes on his own, defeats the wizard and rescues Nina, who is gravely weakened from xeon exposure. The rescue party transports back to Wyndia, where they administer the wizard's remedy to the King, who makes a full recovery.
