The Thunder Puppy form is one of the Puppies obtained after meeting the Fire Shaman, Sana, who attempts to merge powers with Ryu. Unlike in the original Breath of Fire, in Breath of Fire II Puppies act as a spell other than a transformation. Using it consumes all of Ryu's AP and causes him to briefly transform into the Thunder Puppy, perform a single attack, and then immediately revert back to his human form, thus ending his turn. The Thunder Puppy's attack does a base damage of 256 lightning elemental damage.
