The Old Lady is found at the "?" area after the Dam. She is a bard who performs songs against a small fee. She seems to be knowledgeable about dragons and their ways, however she often speaks indirectly in cryptic metaphors.
Role in Breath of Fire IV[]

Ryu, Nina and the others encounter the Old Lady after the events at the Dam. First, they make a short stop at a cape at dusk, where they spot Ni Ryong again. The dragon tries to communicate with the party, but they cannot understand him.
Unfading Ones performed.
This is when the Old Lady starts to play her lute. The party then spots her sitting atop of a stone pillar of what appears to be a shrine. They can pay either 10 zenny or 100 zenny. If the player pays 10 zenny, she performs Whirlpools Inside (The Frog's Song). If they continue to pay her 10 zenny, she will perform Flutter (Butterfly), followed by Shima-shima at Your Back (Buzz Buzz Buzz), and finally Unfading Ones. If the player pays 100 zenny, then she will perform the Unfading Ones directly, skipping the other songs. Cray seems confused by her song and impatient to leave the area, while Nina thanks her. As the part leaves, the Old Woman comments to herself that the party doesn't realize they already walk with a dragon among them.
