The Mayor is a non-playable character who appears in Breath of Fire IV. He is the political leader of Kyria and also watches over the underground passage leading to Synesta. He owns a pet parrot that speaks in riddles.
Role in Breath of Fire IV[]
Ryu, Nina and the others first arrive in Kyria following the events at the Dam and at the dusk cape. They are looking for Elina whose last known location was Synesta. In order to get there, they need to pass through the underground passage which is guarded by troops. They need the mayor's permission.
After entering the mayor's house via an underground passage, they find a parrot that tells them, after some conversational back and forth, that the mayor went into the nearby woods in order to drive away animals which are pestering the town. The party heads there and finds the mayor shooing away a small maman. Shortly after, its mother appears and threatens the mayor, so the party rushes to his rescue.
They exchange a few words and he then allows the party to use the passage to Synesta on the following day.
