Habaruku, mistranslated during battle in the English release of the game as Babaruku, is a boss enemy that appears in Breath of Fire II.
Story[]
When Habaruku, under the guise of Father Hulk, reveals his true identity, he attempts to have Patty sacrificed in order to open the seal in Gate that will allow his God, Deathevan, to rise to the surface world. The sleeping dragon interferes allowing Ryu and his party to fight and defeat him.
Strategy[]
Habaruku can be an easy or terrifying opponent depending on the player's luck. Habaruku has an array of powerful spells but often spends time casting debuffs to the party rather than inflicting damage. When he does use offensive spells, he is to be feared, as he has high level spells like Missile, Fireball, Hail and Bolt X, all of which deal tremendous damage.
The player is advised to use Ryu's Kaiser Dragon and use Shield to minimize the damage done by his spells and heal regularly using the likes of Cure 3. Habaruku is relatively slow but a well placed Speed debuff on the player's healer along with his damage bombardment can spell certain doom.
