Story[]

The Dolphin threatened to eat the fairies if the Lighthouse wasn't turned off, which they complied with. After Ryu and the party turned the Lighthouse back on, the fairies made Ryu, Momo and Nina deal with him. The Dolphin pretended to be friendly while Nina and Momo were talking to him and then spat water at Ryu. The Dolphin resumed his friendly persona until the fairies insulted him and he attacked the party, who defeated him.

Strategy[]

Dolphin isn't a terribly hard boss, but he can still be a threat if one is careless. His Tsunami attack is his most threatening attack, able to take out large chunks of HP from the party. His weakness is lightning, so have Ryu transform by using the Thunder and Eldritch Genes, then follow it up with several Myollnir spells. This should take out large chunks of his HP, about 300 or so a shot. Have Nina use Lightning, Jolt, or any lightning spell/skill she may have, while Momo should just attack. Heal when necessary, and he should go down within a few turns.

Trivia[]

  • The Dolphin spoke with a Kansai accent in the Japanese version of Breath of Fire 3, this was swapped to an Australian accent in the English version.
    • In the german version the dolphin uses the northern hesse dialect.
  • The game offered a translation for players who didn't speak or were proficient with the above.
