Death, also referred to as Stun in Breath of Fire, is a negative status condition in the Breath of Fire Series.

Any character whose HP reaches zero automatically gains the death condition. Dead characters are unable to perform any actions whatsoever, and they cannot be targeted by most actions, including actions that would usually restore a character's HP. Dead characters are also barred from gaining EXP from battles. In addition, if all characters in the party are dead, the player loses the battle, which results in a Game Over state in Breath of Fire III and Breath of Fire IV, or the loss of half the player's current Zenny in Breath of Fire and Breath of Fire II. Death can be cured automatically by Guts, and manually via a variety of items and skills.

In Breath of Fire and Breath of Fire II, the character will remain dead until the party has rested or the character is revived through player means. However, in Breath of Fire III, Breath of Fire IV, and Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, affected party members are automatically revived from Death with 1 HP at the end of battle.
