D-Dive, also known as Accession (竜変身, Ryuu Henshin?, lit. "Dragon Transformation") and Meditate (トランス, Toransu?, lit. "Trance"), is a recurring ability in the Breath of Fire series and is distinct from the similarly named ability Meditation. Using it gives the user access to dragon transformations.

Accession is an ability gained by Ryu after being severly injured by Sunder. It allows him to select any combination of up to three Dragon Genes, and will temporarily transform him into any of a number of dragon forms depending on the genes used.

- The dragon transformation abilities in Breath of Fire III and Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter are both acquired in similar ways, in that each game's version of Ryu is stabbed and presumed dead in both installments.
