- "Well, whether it did or not, we should be thankful that we crashed near the edge of the desert, and not in the middle."
- — Cray after crash
The Crash Site is a location in Breath of Fire IV. It is the player's starting location, once the game's opening cutscene concludes and, for a time, serves as a makeshift camp for Cray while guards the sandflier wreckage.
Story[]
Nina and Cray set out from Wyndia to find Elina, Nina's sister. All of a sudden, the Endless Sa Ryong appears out of nowhere and rams the sandflier in its agitation. The dragon disappears, leaving the party's vehicle in a total state of disrepair.
Cray, unfortunately, cannot fix it. They discuss for a while and Nina insists on helping out. Cray, acting like an overprotective older brother, does not like the idea but eventually begrudgingly allows Nina to travel to the nearby desert town of Sarai. There, she can procure spare parts which are indespensable for the repairwork. He hands her over the King's Sword so she can defend herself if the situation calls for it.
Trivia[]
- Salvagers can be found when the party returns to the wreck at a later stage in the game. One of them will advance the Treasure Ball Sidequest which is required for Marlok's skills
- Sa Ryong apologizes for ramming their vehicle at a later stage in the game, at Yorae Shrine. Endless eventually become dragons as their power fades when time progresses. They simply "are", as P'ung Ryong explains and they do not want to interfere with the dealings of the mortals. It was not malice, but rather a century old god that has become a bit too passive about the world.
