Chedo is a location within Breath of Fire IV. It was built by Fou-Lu to serve as the capital of his Empire, a role that it continues to maintain in the present. However, the majority of the city was reduced to ruins after A-tur was sent by Fou-Lu to destroy it.
Role in Breath of Fire IV[]
After making his way across the Western Continent, Fou-Lu arrives in Chedo and travels through the city to reach the Castle. After entering the castle, Fou-Lu meets with A-tur. He orders him to leave the castle and destroy the city.
Some time later, Ryu and his party arrive at Chedo, and find that the city has been laid to ruin by A-Tur. Making their way through the city, they are forced to do battle with A-Tur. When they prove victorious, it is revealed that Ursula's grandfather has fallen in defense of the city. Ursula exchanges heartfelt words with her grandfather, who reflects upon the foolishness of humanity. He makes a final request of Ursula to guide Ryu towards the castle so that he can meet Fou-Lu, and asks for the forgiveness of the Gods for what the Western Empire has wrought. Grief-stricken, Ursula consents to General Rhun's final request, and escorts the party towards the end of their quest.
